U.S. approves sale of US$ 800 mil. of Seahawk helicopters to Korea: DSCA Updated: 2019-08-08 13:24:37 KST

The U.S. government has approved the potential sale of 800-million dollars' worth of helicopters to South Korea.
The Pentagon's Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Wednesday that it's given the go-ahead for twelve MH-60R Multi-Mission Seahawk Helicopters and the equipment that goes with them.
The agency said, it expects that sale to support Washington's diplomatic policies and bolster the Korean Navy's anti-submarine and surface missions as well as secondary missions like search and rescue.
Seoul's defense procurement agency said it's looking at several kinds of helicopters, including the Seahawk, and will announce its choice by early next year.
