Naver signs partnership agreement with China's AliExpress for overseas direct purchases Updated: 2019-08-06 07:01:44 KST

South Korea's biggest internet portal Naver has signed a partnership agreement with China's AliExpress, the main cross-border retail service of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba.
With the move, South Korean consumers can search for products on AliExpress via Naver, but they'll have to make payments on the Chinese platform.
Naver says the partnership comes as more and more South Korean consumers make direct purchases from overseas sites as they scour for bargains.
Naver also plans to sign partnership agreements with America's iHerb and Singapore's Qoo10.
