South Korea was ranked the third largest producer of electronic goods last year thanks to strong sales of memory chips.
According to a report by the Korea Electronics Association, the country produced just over 171 billion U.S. dollars' worth of electronics in 2018, …making up nearly nine percent of the global market.
Korea trails only China and the United States, …which make up about 37 percent and 13 percent of the market, respectively.
Strong performances by chipmakers like Samsung Electronics and SK hynix have helped boost Korea's electronics production.
But, Japan's latest export curbs are threatening to hinder that progress.
