Seoul informs foreign delegates on Tokyo's export restrictions Updated: 2019-07-30 17:11:06 KST

The government is stepping up efforts to inform the international community of problems associated with Japan's recent export restrictions to South Korea and to reiterate Seoul's stance on the issue.
South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, said they've held a briefing on Tuesday for delegates from 28 countries.
The foreign affairs ministry stressed Seoul is doing its utmost to prevent the situation from worsening and that Tokyo must refrain from imposing unilateral measures threatening global economy and trade.
It also stressed Seoul's opposition to any additional restrictive measure by Tokyo and urged the Japanese government to cooperate to diplomatically resolve the issue for the development of the two countries' relations.
