Korea's health authorities have issued a nationwide alert over the risk of Japanese encephalitis.
The warning comes after the Centers for Disease Control found the virus carrying the disease in more than 70 percent of mosquito samples collected in Gyeongsangnam-do Province.
No cases of Japanese encephalitis have been reported so far this year.
Health authorities are advising people to get vaccinated.
Children under the age of 12 can get vaccinations for free at public health centers.
