Decrease in flights from Korea to Japan is a 'difficult situation': Japan governor Updated: 2019-07-22 16:39:49 KST

With more South Koreans boycotting travel to Japan, one Japanese governor has said the reduction in South Korean flights to Japan is becoming a big problem.

According to Japan's Saga TV, governor Yoshinori Yamaguchi of Saga Prefecture in Kyushu said the decrease in flights has put his region's tourism sector in a difficult position.
Local media reports say South Koreans make up about 60 percent of all international passengers to Saga and that the occupancy rates of flights from Korea to Saga have dropped by over 10 percent compared to last year.
