NSC calls on Japan to withdraw its export restrictions, settle dispute diplomatically Updated: 2019-07-18 17:19:49 KST

South Korea's National Security Council has called on Japan to immediately call off its export measures, and respond positively to the South Korean government's efforts to resolve the dispute diplomatically.
Measures on that front were reviewed Thursday in an NSC meeting chaired by National Security Adviser Chung Eui-yong.
On North Korea, the council agreed to continue efforts to get working-level talks going again between Pyeongyang and Washington to achieve concrete results on denuclearization.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump had agreed to resume those talks when they met last month at the DMZ.
