Renowned fashion designer, artist, and socialite Gloria Vanderbilt died on Monday at the age of 95.
The news of her death was announced by her son, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.
According to Cooper in his on-air obituary, his mother passed away after a brief battle with stomach cancer.
An heiress to a railroad fortune, Vanderbilt later built a fashion empire, designing jeans for women, which were previously made only for men.
Vanderbilt died at home with friends and family at her side.
