Federal Reserve minutes signal maintaining current patient approach to monetary policy Updated: 2019-05-23 13:02:50 KST

Minutes from the Fed's most recent meeting appear to confirm that it won't be changing interest rates in either direction for the time being.
In their meeting from April 30th to May 1st, they agreed that patience is needed in the near future despite continued improvements in global economic and financial conditions.
They also said they think recent weakness in inflation is only temporary.
After that meeting, the Fed kept its key interest rate steady between two-and-a-quarter and two-and-a-half percent.
