The U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, Stephen Biegun, is in South Korea for the first time since the North Korea-U.S. summit in February ended without an agreement.
Biegun arrived in Seoul yesterday and met his South Korean counterpart Lee Do-hoon this morning.
They discussed North Korea's recent firing of short-range projectiles and Seoul's possible provision of humanitarian food aid to the North.
Biegun and Lee are to meet again on Friday for the Seoul-Washington working group meeting.
The U.S. envoy will also meet South Korea's ministers of foreign affairs and unification and visit the Blue House on Friday.
