And while all that's taking place in the Russian city of Vladivostok, here in Seoul-- President Moon Jae-in held a separate meeting with a Russian security official.
For more on this, we go live to our Shin Se-min for the details.
Se-min what were some of the things discussed during the meeting?
Right Daeun we have just learned that President Moon Jae-in and the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev had discussed issues ------
just few hours after the summit meeting between the leaders of North Korea and Russia in Vladivostok.
All this-- coming from a meeting between the South Korean leader and the Russian security adviser held a couple of hours ago at the Blue House.
Now Se-min, South Korea's National Security Advisor Chung Eui-yong also met with Patrushev today, what can we take away from that meeting?
The presidential office said the talks between the two security advisers were just a regular security meeting -- following four previous similar meetings since the start of the Moon administration.
But the timing does imply that President Moon is keen on the developments in the region.
And all this-- as we know, comes on the back of the South Korean leader's efforts to get Pyeongyang and Washington back to the negotiating table for talks.
