Gov't to set up digital forensics center to investigate polluters Updated: 2019-04-25 14:42:41 KST

Korea's environment ministry says it will set up a digital forensics center to more effectively track down those who pollute the environment.
The ministry announced on Thursday that it will hold a signboard hanging ceremony at the government complex in Gwacheon on Friday.
The center will be in charge of investigating environmental crimes by analyzing digital evidence from computers and mobile phones.
The ministry said it plans to apply the scientific method to look closely at socially sensitive issues such as waste disposal and emissions of fine dust, and punish those contributing to environmental pollution.
