The official uniform for this year's World Aquatics Championships has been shown to the public for the first time.
The organizing committee of the 2019 FINA World Championships held an official uniform fashion show on Wednesday in Seoul,… to reveal what referees, volunteers and safety guards will wear during the 17-day global sporting event, which starts on July 12th.
The semi-formal uniforms in bright colors, inspired by the host city,… were showcased for the first time to the public, letting the global fans know that Gwangju is a metropolitan city full of vitality and excitement.
"As many people will know, Gwangju is a city of peace and human rights. So we have tried to show the image of freedom and equal human rights in the uniforms."
Famous figures including actor Sung Hoon, one of the honorary ambassadors of the Summer sports event, had a chance to try on one of the uniforms,… expressing their delight with the fitting and style.
Along with the uniforms, the medals that swimmers will be competing for were also revealed for the first time.
Some 7-thousand athletes from about 200 countries will compete for 186 gold medals in 76 events from six disciplines including, swimming, diving and water polo.
The front side of the medal has an image of Gwangju's renowned, Mudeung-san Mountain and Yeongsan-gang River,… complementing the event's slogan of "Dive into Peace," promoting peace, eco-friendliness and culture.
With the revealing of the medals and uniforms,… aquatics fans from around the world can now feel like there isn't long to wait until the start of the world championships
