North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will travel to Russia later this month to meet with President Vladimir Putin.
This was confirmed by the Kremlin on Thursday but no other details were provided.
A Russian daily, the Izvestiya, previously reported that the summit will happen in Vladivostok and that preparations were underway.
The paper mentioned that Putin will sit down with Kim before travelling to China for the Belt and Road Summit 2019 set for next Friday and Saturday.
The North Korean leader's de facto chief-of-staff Kim Chang-son was spotted in Russia this week, inspecting the area near Vladivostok Station.
The upcoming Pyeongyang-Moscow summit will be the first of its kind in eight years.
