Competition is heating up among Korea's mobile carriers with Samsung's launch today of its Galaxy S10 5G phone.
SK Telecom has drastically increased the new phone discounts it gives to its subscribers from 320,000 Korean won to just over 540,000.
Its competitor LG Uplus had raised its subsidies just hours earlier.
Some say, though, that by doing that they might be at risk of breaking the law.
The other main carrier, KT, says it has no plans to adjust its discounts.
