PM Lee expresses hope to upgrade S. Korea-Mongolia ties to "strategic partnership" Updated: 2019-03-26 19:10:56 KST

Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon expressed his hopes of upgrading the partnership between South Korea and Mongolia, during his official visit to the country.
He said the upgrade to "strategic partnership", the highest level of relations, should come in light of next year being the 30th anniversary of Seoul and Ulaanbaatar establishing diplomatic ties.
During his meeting with his Mongolian counterpart, ( )Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh Lee said the two countries have been cooperating in various sectors since 1990, but expressed hopes that cooperation will expand not just in business, but also in the fields of environment and health.
There was some 380-million U.S. dollars of trade between Korea and Mongolia last year, and some 200-thousand people visited each others' countries.
