The nation's capital is working to increase exchanges between the two Koreas for the public by planning field trips to the North for grade schoolers.
The superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, Cho Hee-yeon, will be crossing the border to visit Geumgangsan Mountain for two days starting Tuesday, to discuss ways to implement the Pyeongyang Joint Declaration education-wise.
He plans to propose educational exchanges consisting of 10 programs such as explorations of historical artifacts, experiencing traditional culture, arts and performances.
The most likely to happen first are field trips to the North and sports exchanges.
