The nation's Foreign Minister will hold a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington on Thursday morning, local time.
It will be their first face-to-face talks in about two months.
The event, expected to last for about thirty minutes, is Kang Kyung-wha's last official schedule before she returns home.
According to Seoul's ministry of foreign affairs, the duo will discuss issues of mutual concern, as well as cooperation in achieving North Korea's denuclearization and peace settling process.
Kang is visiting Washington as the chief of the South Korean delegation to the funeral of former U.S. President George H.W. Bush.
