A massive Hurricane is battering the U.S. port city of Wilmington, North Carolina with powerful winds and torrential rain.
Florence has been downgraded to a Category-1 storm, but officials are warning that it remains very dangerous and unpredictable.
It is moving northwest at some 10-kilometers per hour and has maximum sustained winds of close to 150-kilometers per hour.
The worst is yet to come, as the hurricane is expected to hover over the Carolinas for days, blasting the states with strong winds and dumping relentless rain.
The eye of the storm is forecast to make landfall on Friday afternoon, local time.
