And to discuss the North's cancelation of today's talks with South Korea, Seoul's defense minister Song Young-moo held an emergency meeting this morning with the commander of U.S. Forces Korea, General Vincent Brooks.
South Korea's Defense Ministry told Arirang News that the two met for about half an hour starting at 8 a.m., and discussed a joint response to the North's sudden about-turn.
The two said the Max Thunder exercise will continue, and between the allies there is no difference of opinion on the matter.
The ministry added that the exercises are a regular annual training program for pilots.
