"Hey, who knows -- if it happens, if it doesn't happen, I may leave fast, or I may sit down and make the greatest deal for the world and for all of these countriesand including North Korea, and that is what I hope happens."

He said that the precondition for meeting is that North Korea should not fire any missiles in the meantime, and implied he thinks the North actually wants to denuclearize and make peace.

"They are not sending missiles up, and I believe that, I believe that, I really do. I think they want to do something, I think they want to make peace, I think it is time."

President Trump also said that many countries have showed support for the historic talks as well.
In two separate tweets, Trump said that Chinese President Xi Jinping appreciated Washington's diplomatic efforts, and that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was also very enthusiastic about talks with Pyongyang.
Though the meeting is likely to be held by the end of May, the venue hasn't been decided yet.
Foreign media including the Washington Post report that the White House is already preparing for the groundbreaking talks, suggesting a wide array of possible locations including the U.S., North Korea, the demilitarized zone, or even a third-party country.
