More babies born to women 35 and older than those in their 20s last year Updated: 2017-11-08 15:13:00 KST

Another sign Koreans are getting married and starting families later and later.
For the first time in Korea, more babies are being born to women aged 35 or older than those in their twenties.
According to Statistics Korea, last year women 35 and older gave birth to more than 107 thousand babies, nearly a thousand more than moms under 30.
The data also shows the average age of pregnant women in Korea reached an all-time high of 32.4 years old.
Another factor besides people staying single until later in life, experts say, was the rising number of couples in their second marriage having babies.
