The torch relay of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics begins on Tuesday in Olympia, the home of the ancient games in Greece.
The lighting ceremony, which symbolizes PyeongChang's hopes of bringing peace and joy to the world, was set to take place at the ancient temple in Olympia right around now at six p.m., Korea time.
A local actress, in the role of High Priestess, will light the torch using a parabolic mirror, and a Greek cross-country skier will be the first torchbearer athlete.
Legendary Korean football player, Park Ji-sung, who is the honorary ambassador for 2018 Games, will be the first to take the torch.
The torch will tour Greece over the next seven days, and will be handed over to the PyeongChang 2018 Organizing Committee next Tuesday.
