The first parliamentary audit since President Moon Jae-in took office, begins today.
The National Assembly's 16 standing committees will conduct sweeping inspections on more than 700 state organs over the next 20-days-- through the end of the month.
The Supreme Court, as well as the defense, education and foreign ministries will be examined on day one of the audit period.
Tensions are mounting between the rival political parties, with the ruling Democratic Party vowing to root out corruption while the opposition Liberty Korea Party has promised to fight populism.
