Korean automaker Kia Motors now has reason to celebrate, after falling on hard times in recent months.
Kia said on Wedensday, its sales in the U.S. last month was the highest-ever recorded for the month of September in any year.
The automaker's U.S. subsidiary said it sold a total of 52,470 cars last month up nearly 7 percent compared to a year earlier.
The rise was attributed to growing demand for Kia's large and mid-sized sedans, with sales of the Forte model surging nearly 29 percent on-year.
Sales of its Optima and Cadenza sedans also rose by double-digits in September compared to the same period last year.
