Korea's Acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn vowed to use the latest ICT and science technologies to secure new growth engines for the country's economy.
Speaking at a ceremony in Seoul for Science, Information and Communications Day, the PM said the government is implementing national projects to foster cutting-edge technologies like AI and VR.
He emphasized the government initiated a series of policies to help Korea ride the wave of the fourth industrial revolution since last year.
Hwang shared plans to implement forward-looking R&D policies to promote new industries while fostering a self-driven learning environment to enable researchers to pursue creativity and innovation.
