Starting Thursday, the cost of charging electric vehicles will be cut almost in half.
The Ministry of Environment is lowering the cost of electricity at EV quick-charging stations by 44 percent from its current level to about 174 won per kilowatt hour that's about 15 cents.
With about 2 dollars and 30 cents one can cover 100 kilometers with these green cars only about a quarter of the cost of a typical gasoline-powered car.
To promote eco-friendly consumer culture, discounts are provided to EV drivers who pay with a BC Card or with BC's Green Card.
Members can collect points for helping to cut carbon emissions.
